Ways to Play “What Am I?” in Class

You can use the “What Am I?” questions above to create your own quiz or choose one of the ready-made printable versions. These games are flexible and work well for different lesson goals and student levels. Here are three simple ways to play in class.

Quick Whole-Class Game

Read each set of clues aloud, one at a time, and have students raise their hands to answer. Encourage them to respond in full sentences, such as “I am a penguin,” “You are a teacher,” or “I think the answer is a chair.” You can then ask follow-up questions like “Does anyone else have a different guess?” or “Do you think he/she is right?” to keep the whole class engaged and thinking.

Individual Writing Practice

“What Am I?” quizzes can be used as a fun writing activity to practise spelling and sentence structure.
