Adjective Worksheets For Grade 2
An important part of speech that grade 2 students must learn about is adjectives. Below, you’ll find a collection of adjective worksheets for grade 2. These provide practice exercises that enable students to identify and use adjectives correctly. As always, these worksheets are free to use in your lessons.

Identify the Adjective
Students look at a table of words and circle all the adjectives. This activity gives students plenty of practice identifying adjectives.

Underline the Adjective – Exercise 1
Students read 10 simple sentences and underline the adjective in each. This reinforces how adjectives function within a sentence. After completing the task, you can extend the activity by eliciting alternative adjectives from students (e.g., “She has blue eyes” → “She has green eyes”) to show how changing the adjective modifies the noun.

Underline the Adjective – Exercise 2
This worksheet also asks students to underline the adjectives in each sentence, this time with 10 new sentences.

Adjective Fill in the Blank
Students complete each sentence by choosing the correct adjective from a word bank. This encourages them to think about how adjectives fit meaningfully into sentences.

Adjectives Matching Worksheet
Students read an adjective and then circle the picture that matches the description (e.g., big → elephant). This builds understanding of how adjectives describe real-world objects.

Adjectives Writing Worksheet
Students look at pictures and use adjectives from a word bank to describe the picture accurately (e.g., long hair). This helps them practice combining adjectives with nouns naturally.
