How to Use This Quiz in Class

This quiz can be more than just a simple “fruit or vegetable” activity. Here are some ways to make it interactive and adaptable for different levels:

  • Sentence practice: After each question, ask students to make a full sentence rather than just saying “fruit” or “vegetable.”
    • Beginners: “A carrot is a vegetable.”
    • Higher levels: use the word as a prompt for conversation. For example, “When was the last time you ate a carrot?”
  • Move around the room: Instead of answering verbally, assign one side of the classroom as “fruit” and the other as “vegetable.” Students move to the correct side to show their guess. This works especially well with younger learners.
