PREPOSITIONS MEMORY GAME – Fun ESL Classroom Game For Kids
HOW TO PLAY:
Simply play the video in class. Students will see a scene for five seconds and must try to remember where all the objects are. Then, students will be asked a question and must choose the correct answer. For example, students will be asked ‘Where is the watch?’, and must answer ‘It’s on the chair.’ There are 10 questions, and each question gets harder as more objects and more distractions are added to the scene.
BEFORE PLAYING:
Students will require some prior knowledge of prepositions so this game is best as a review activity. Before playing this game, teach students prepositions vocabulary. A great way to teach prepositions vocabulary is through ESL songs. For ESL song recommendations about prepositions, and many more topics, visit our post about THE BEST ESL SONGS FOR KIDS
MAKE IT MORE FUN:
To make it more fun, after playing one time, divide the class in to teams and ask students to choose an object and then make a question for the other team(s). This is a great way to get students talking and asking and answering questions using the target language.
