A game to teach classroom objects vocabulary.

Classroom Object Games | Fun ESL Classroom Activities

Use these classroom object games to help students learn and practice the names of common school items in a fun, interactive way. The first video is a hidden picture game where students guess the object as it gradually appears. The second begins with listen-and-repeat practice and then moves into a “What’s Missing?” review activity. Both games are designed for beginner-level learners and require no preparation. They’re ideal for introducing or reviewing classroom objects vocabulary in your lessons.

Classroom Objects Hidden Picture Game

How to Play:

To play this game, simply show the video in class. There are ten pictures of different classroom objects hidden behind colored shapes. As the shapes slowly disappear, students must try to guess what the classroom object word is before the picture is revealed.

Tip: Pause the video after each section is revealed to give students time to think and guess. To make it even more fun, you can turn it into a team game by giving each group a whiteboard and have them write down their answers.

Classroom Objects Listen and Repeat

How to Play:

In this activity, students will first listen and repeat the names of 15 classroom objects. After the review, they’ll play a “What’s Missing?” game, where one object disappears from the screen and students must remember which one is missing. This is a great way to introduce or review classroom vocabulary in a fun and interactive way.

Tip: Use this video in your first classroom objects lesson to introduce the key words with clear visuals and audio. For the review game, pause the video before the answer is revealed to give students time to think or discuss in pairs.
