Action Verb Flashcard Game Idea โ Teacher Says Jump
This game is a fun twist on Simon Says that uses action verb flashcards.
- First, teach an action for each verb in the flashcards (e.g., for run students run on the spot, for read they mime opening a book).
- Practice each action as you go through the flashcards with the class.
- Once students know the actions, shuffle the cards and choose one at random. Say โTeacher says [verb]โ (e.g., Teacher says jump) and the class does the action.
- If you say the verb without โTeacher says,โ students must stay still.
- Gradually speed up to make the game more exciting.
Tip: After one round, invite a student to the front to be the โteacher.โ
