Fun Hobbies Vocabulary Game for English Class
This hobbies vocabulary game is ideal for beginner English lessons about hobbies and interests. In this fun classroom activity, learners will guess hobbies from partially hidden pictures and then make sentences in English using the new vocabulary. How to Use This Hobbies Vocabulary Game in Class
To use this activity, simply play the video for your students. The game contains 10 pictures of different hobbies hidden behind colored shapes. As the shapes disappear, students try to guess the hobby as quickly as possible. After each reveal, encourage students to make a sentence using the hobby vocabulary. For example:
- โI like painting.โ
- โI like to play soccer.โ
- โShe enjoys playing the guitar.โ
This activity works well for:
- Lesson warm-ups โ Get students thinking about the topic before introducing new material.
- Speaking practice โ Have learners use full sentences to describe hobbies they see.
