Here are some fun activities you can play in class with these sports flashcards:

Make a Team
This game works best with a large class. Hand out one small flashcard to each student. Students must then walk around and “find their team” by asking each other questions such as “What’s your favorite sport?” – “My favorite sport is …” Students who have the same flashcard form a group. This game gives learners practice using sports vocabulary in a natural speaking context.
Sports Charades
Divide the class into two teams and have one student from each team come to the front. Each team chooses a flashcard at random, and the student must act out the sport for their teammates to guess. Set a timer for 30 seconds. The team with the most correct guesses wins.
Sports 20 Questions
This activity is best for higher-level learners. Choose a card at random, but don’t show it to the class. Students then take turns asking yes/no questions to figure out the sport. For example: “Is it a team sport?” “Does it use a small ball?” The student or team who guesses correctly gets to come to the front and choose the next flashcard.
